Our Story
For generations, tried-and-true measuring spoons and cups have been the default in all kitchens.
For the Ertel family, searching and scrambling for the needed cooking tools was a challenge. Dad is a novice cook and likes to experiment with Asian dishes. He regularly uses a variety of different ingredients that require exact measurements and was having trouble finding the right measuring spoons and cups.
And then there’s the mess! Remnants of cayenne left in the teaspoon and chili flakes dried to the tablespoon. Flour and oil spilled all over the counters and floor. The mess made the family wonder if home-cooking was worth all the clean-up needed, especially at the end of a long day.
Tasked with a big family dinner one night, frustration bubbled up as dad desperately tried to locate and clean measuring spoons and cups. He considered eyeballing the measurements but knew that choice may ruin both his dish. The family had enough of this cooking chaos and started searching for solutions. Just as they were about to give up hope, the idea behind Precise Cook Products was born.
Precise Cook Products come to life
For over 20 years, Ned ran a successful Pennsylvania-based publishing and manufacturing company serving Fortune 1000 companies. After successfully selling the business, the next chapter of his life would align with one of his great passions: cooking for friends and family. Working with product design innovator Motiv, Ned created a series of products designed to inspire the home cooks in all of us.
